      • allow alternative authentication mechanisms

        Personally I do not like Facebook's privacy policies so never use my Facebook credentials to log in to third party websites.

        By only allowing people to actively use your site using a Facebook ID means that I will not use your site.

            Consider some safety assurance. What about a premium identity verification service like Paypal use? For example tie a user to a landline telephone by calling them, or store a scan of a passport or bank statement / addressed letter?
